ZEN's Garden For The Community

Our Story
ZEN’s Garden For The Community sits on 1.8 acres of land that was cleared in January 2022. Since then, Charlotte Mecklenburg County Public Health has helped us build 30 garden beds to support our mission of Growing with Purpose and providing a safe, welcoming space for community members to grow their own food. Our garden officially opened in April 2023, and since then, we’ve been working to lessen food insecurity by donating fresh harvests to families in need.
We’re thrilled to share that our outdoor classroom is almost complete, and construction of our outdoor kitchen is underway! Soon, we’ll be able to host hands-on cooking classes right at the garden.
ZEN’s Garden for the Community is more than a garden — it’s a space where neighbors can connect, learn to live healthier lifestyles, and work together to tackle food insecurity.
Throughout the year, we host seasonal festivals, educational workshops, volunteer opportunities, and special events for all ages. Be sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook to stay updated, and visit our DONATE page to help us continue Growing with Purpose!
